I get real grim in the winter, doomy-gloomy-fatalistic. I need to be in my garden. So, these last weeks and weeks of rain with no sign of sun to come have had me in a bad place. Finally, I found myself in The Back, Back Yard this weekend.
Most of Saturday was spent pulling up a sea of flowering clover and I only managed to clear the vegetable beds. The shade and succulent gardens have yet to be cleansed.
Yesterday I planted 7 tomato plants, basil and a bunch of different vegetable seeds. Today I will put only flower seeds in one of the beds and hope for good cuttings in the future.
I wish I could just be myopic when I'm out there. But, I can't help but look at the big picture and see all that needs to be done and all that I wish I could afford to do! At least I'm no longer looking through the window and wishing for a just a little sun!
