The last month has been beyond hectic getting the Black and White and Shades Between show together. Between getting my own art done, getting the word out, cleaning and tweaking the studio, and collecting and hanging art I didn't manage to finish my big piece.
The reception went really well, probably over 100 in attendance. Artists brought food and drinks to share and the musicians played until 2am. spurred on by those of us remaining and a very drunk Scotsman who had us in stitches with his antics.
It's always a bit sad, after having planned and executed a big event, when it is over. Don't get me wrong, I am still exhausted and won't be doing that again for a few months! Hopefully, folks will have a bit of extra money when the next show rolls around, only sold 3 pieces (none of mine) this time and really could have used some cash to cover the rent one studio mate hasn't paid in two months!

Hey, there, looks like you hosted a successful event; wish I could've been there! I hate that post-party letdown feeling, too. Thank god for pictures — The Medusa is fantastic!
ReplyDeleteHi Reubin! It was a great time had by all! I will post some photos when the Medusa is finished. We are having another big show in June, gotta get to work! When is the garden tour?
