It has been a busy month for a change and The Great Sadness of winter is completely gone. I need to keep busy to keep sane and I hope that this momentum keeps rolling me into the months to come.
I was invited to photograph a Red Cross event at the home of a former boyfriend's mother. It was a vintage themed, High Tea sort of thing. I had not been there since his memorial service and reception more than 11 years before. I had mixed feelings about going back but am so happy I did. I was able to reconnect with his family and and roam around the beautiful property and gardens with his spirit as my escort.
Last weekend I photographed a lovely, small wedding at The Benicia Yacht Club. It was a perfect day (besides the bride being an hour late, the sprinklers soaking the outdoor ceremony area, children melt-downs, and a car we couldn't start to get down to the waterfront to take the couple's photographs). It was a sweet and simple affair filled with lots of love and just as I think a wedding should be.
